ACTPHAST supported company Luz Wavelabs announced as an award winner at the European Venture Summit 2016
Luz Wavelabs, which was founded in 2013 in Madrid, to develop disruptive signal generation technology to provide actual optical fiber bandwidth in wireless communications, and in 2015 successfully applied for and engaged in an innovation acceleration support project with ACTPHAST, was today announced as one of the Top Award Winners at this year's European Venture Summit in Dusseldorf.
Each year over 800 start-ups apply for the EVS through a dozen of regional or technology-focussed qualifiers to present their company, engage with top industry experts and network with potential investors. The contest element comes from the selection of the best quartile of the qualifiers, who go to the final event at the end of the year with more than 100 entrepreneurs and venture investors. Luz Wavelabs came through to the EVS as one of the 6 winners at the European Photonics Venture Forum which was held in Eindhoven in June 2016. At the grand final EVS in Dusseldorf this week, 120 finalists were then reviewed by a top Selection Committee and the 25 best startups were awarded. To be selected amongst these Top 25 Award Winners is a major achievement for Luz Wavelabs.
